    Four MAL schools are using their rivalries to help others. Through Friday, Mohawk High School's honor society and Carey High School's student council are having Food Drive Challenge to collect non-perishable food to be given to Wyandot County food pantries. The football teams meet on the field Friday, and items can be dropped off at the schools during normal hours through that afternoon. Oc.

    Near-perfect weather, top-notch musicians, good attendance and positive comments from visitors and businesses - all have indicated the inaugural Jazzin' Tiffin was a success. Co-chairwomen Theresa Sullivan and Shirley Smith expressed relief and satisfaction at the culmination of their project. They and their committee are to meet soon to review all the elements and plan for the 2010 event.

    A Tiffin man indicted on eight drug-related counts stemming from two separate cases appeared in court Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. According to Seneca County Clerk of Courts documents, Seth D. Hoover, 24, pleaded not guilty to five counts of trafficking in cocaine and three counts of trafficking in crack cocaine.

    A 24-year-old Tiffin man indicted last month on a charge of trafficking in heroin has been indicted again on eight additional drug charges. Seth D. Hoover was indicted in two separate cases last week, which included five counts of trafficking in cocaine and three counts of trafficking in crack cocaine, according to court documents.

A native of Tiffin and a 1971 graduate of Calvert High School, Mr. Detwiler spent 30 years in sales and marketing in the telecommunications industry.
