Fairfield Academy is a learning facility for teenage boys with developmental learning problems who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior or any form of hurtful behavior towards others or themselves. At Fairfield Academy a resident is expected to accept responsibility for his behavior, develop skills to learn how to think, feel, and act in ways that reduce the risk of future inappropriate and hurtful behavior. By changing the beliefs and attitudes, a resident will learn to live as a pro-social member of his community. Fairfield Academy residents to act as a symbiotic part of the community rather than a liability. Furthermore, direct supervision and reaffirmation of positive behaviors, acclimate a resident towards acceptance of a structured life. At Fairfield Academy clients will become empowered to change mal-adaptive thoughts and behaviors through our 7 step "Rights of Passage Program." Clients will be entered into 7 months of intensive counseling and geared towards a seamless transition on day one of admission. It is our vision that these youth have the ability to change the way they feel, act, and react to various situations. Fairfield Academy gives it's clients the skill sets to become motivated, successful, and accepting. Through spaced repetition and positive reaffirmation we feel we can deliver a service that benefits not only the youth, but the community as well. Leadership is the ability and the activity of influencing people as well as helping to shape their own as well as others behaviors.
