The Gloria Dei Montessori School is Dayton's oldest Montessori school, serving children aged 18 months through 12 years using the Montessori method since 1962 when the school was founded by Virginia "Ginny" Varga. Christina M (Sutter) Allen, a former Gloria Dei Montessori student and a certified Montessori teacher, became Head of School in 2002 to continue the school's 40 year legacy of providing an authentic Montessori education for children in the Miami Valley, fostering independence, a love of learning, intrinsic motivation and respect for all things.
