School Notes:
- Horizon Christian School does not have the staff to address the concerns of high needs students. These would be students with serious emotional, social, and academic needs requiring the services of specially trained staff. It is our desire to help students achieve to their greatest potential first and foremost in Godly character and spiritual development, and secondly in academic excellence and knowledge. With these goals in mind, we have established the following admission standards. K-2nd Grade A student must test within a year of grade level or above in math and verbal (reading/language arts) skills or readiness (K). Grades 3-8 A student must test within a year of grade level or above in math and verbal skills. High School Students mush test within a year of grade level in math and verbal skills and must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 for admission to Horizon Christian.

The faces are getting younger on the Hood River City Council because, well, the new members are younger. Four students from Horizon Christian School and Hood River Valley High School are now seated on the city’s Youth Advisory Council.
