Holy Redeemer School is privately supported educational institution offering curriculum for students in Pre-K - 6th grade and welcoming all faiths. Founded in 1945, it has long been recognized as an elementary education leader. Believing education is one of the most important ways by which a Church fulfills its commitment to the dignity and uniqueness of the person, Holy Redeemer School, exists to provide a high quality of Christian living and education for the people of Ellwood City and surrounding areas. Holy Redeemer School offers a strong traditional curriculum. In the " Continuous Growth Program" of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, students advance through a defined curriculum according to their individual needs and abilities. In addition to meeting all the requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the curriculum gives special attention to the integration of Gospel Values. It is the aim of Holy Redeemer School to provide a Catholic, educational setting in which our students and their families can integrate Gospel values in daily living. Moraine Area Tractor Cruisers' float in the annual Ellwood City Pumpkin Patch Halloween Parade, held Saturday, took first place. The float, titled "Halloween on the Farm," also won the top prize of $125.

ELLWOOD CITY - Floats, costumed marching groups, marching bands and plenty of mummers will be featured in the annual Halloween "Pumpkin Patch" Parade, planned for downtown Ellwood City beginning at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
