    With leaves turning golden in the mountain town, Art Alliance of Idyllwild members are inviting visitors to come up to take part in the group's fall fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. "It's a nice day to spend in the mountains, to get away from the 'every day,' " Art Alliance President Lon Mercer said by phone. "Fall is definitely in the air up here."

    On Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. at MassBay Community College, 50 Oakland St., the Wellesley Symphony will present the opening concert of its 61st season: Celebrate the Classics. Maestro Max Hobart will lead the orchestra in works by Haydn, Mozart, and Schubert. George Brown will give a pre-concert talk at 2:15 p.m.
