The Concept School

The Concept School is a small, independent, college-preparatory school with an educational program for promising students attending grades 4-12. Our supportive, caring, and dedicated staff provides a structured environment and state accredited curriculum to prepare children for post-secondary programs. Students of average to above average ability participate in small classes with a teacher-student ratio of one to eight. We educate each student according to their identified strengths and interests. The Concept School provides small classes and the support of a close knit community to: guide students in the development of their unique abilities and talents, encourage students to work independently with a personal commitment to academic achievement, offer students the opportunities for the exploration of new ideas and approaches to accomplish their goals.

  • Middle school students in grades 4-8 follow the curriculum guidelines for the state of Pennsylvania, but are alos enriched with study skills, organization, written expression and an emphasis on reading comprehension for each subject studied. College bound high school students also follow PA standards, as well as participate in a multitude of 1/2 year seminar classes as a bridge to college. The skills taught in middle school continue through secondary classes with an emphasis on critical thinking, understanding themselves as learners, using technology as a tool throughout classes,
