School Notes:

  • The curriculum is carefully designed to address the language-based learning differences of our students. The latest findings on learning and brain research guide on-going curriculum development.  Teachers are professionally trained in structured educational programs for explicit instruction in reading, spelling, writing and math. Our small classes are critical for developing trusting relationships that allow students and teachers to know one another. Children who have struggled or experienced frustration in traditional schools come with a pressing need for a safe learning setting where they can begin to believe in themselves anew and face the challenges of learning without fear of judgment or failure. To strengthen children's skills in listening, thinking, speaking, and participating, our teachers give careful attention and guidance, patient listening, time to process, and abundant opportunities for practice. Our average classroom ratio of four students to one teacher fosters relationships and supports our children's learning.
