School Reviews:

  • Recommended April 05,2013 - Good, safe place for severely troubled youth. My 14 yr old daughter has BPD, and has acted out in self-harm and aggression. Parents must understand that their child my not "like " the program, but my view is that the therapy there really causes the child to face their behavior and recognize the impact, so it''s not a pleasant discussion especially if the child is used to manipulating their surroundings. One thing I know is that even though my daughter acted out in extreme aggression. The staff used great restraint whenever she had be be put in a hold. I highly recommend Oak Plain Academy. Remember that it''s a rough time for the kids, parents, and staff. The staff is extensively trained and competent. BTW. I use google too, so I am also aware of a couple of past incidents when the facility was under a different name. I have read all pertinent documents and I have no reservations recommending this facility and the staff there. Also fellow parents, keep in mind that each staff member there encounters psychotic episodes each day, so don''t be taken back if they seem a bit curt or jaded. You don''t know what they deal with on a daily basis.*-Posted by Parent *
