The Thanksgiving Project entailed collecting gifts, gift cards and sports memorabilia from local businesses that were then donated to A-Company, 1-128th Infantry Battalion, who recently discovered they will be going on their third deployment in the spring of 2013. The gifts were presented to CPT Eric Shimon at Immaculate Conception on Monday, November 26th. CPT Shimon thanked the school for their work in collecting the donations and the local businesses for their donations. CPT Shimon commented, "I didn't expect anything like this; the soldiers are very appreciative as they spend many months away from their homes and families". A-Company, 1-128th Infantry, based out of Menomonie, has many brave men and women from Western Wisconsin and they are a front-line unit who will spend several months serving overseas next year.
