Volleyball has been good to junior Lauren Birks of La Jolla Country Day School. European tournaments have enabled her to see the world and make friends in Croatia, Slovenia and Switzerland. College recruiting has filled the mailbox at her Rancho Santa Fe home with letters from the country's most prestigious volleyball programs.

Matthew Mulligan of La Jolla was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Johns Hopkins University. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale with a minimum of 14 credit hours. The Notre Dame men's golf team shot a 294 on the final day of the Prestige at PGA West to finish in 11th place. The 294 marked Notre Dame's best round of the tournament and moved the Irish to +31 (299-302-294-895) for the three-day event. The Notre Dame men's golf team remains in 11th place after shooting a 302 (299-302-601) in the second round of the Prestige at PGA WEST from the TPC Stadium Course of PGA WEST. On day two of the tournament, Notre Dame was led by senior Josh Sandman (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) and junior Connor Alan-Lee (Solana Beach, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School), who each carded two-over par 74's.
