Tennessee Temple Academy
School Notes Overview:
Tennessee Temple Academy is one of the first Christian schools in the Chattanooga area opening its doors in 1942. Tennessee Temple Academy exists for the purpose of complementing the teaching of the home and church in training young people to be able to reason from Biblical principles and relate Biblical truth to every area of their lives so they can be true servants of Jesus Christ. The philosophy of Tennessee Temple Academy emphasizes the interrelationship of three institutions (the home, the church, and the school) working together for the betterment of the child. At Tennessee Temple, it is our firm conviction that proper training first begins in the home. The home was the first institution God set up on earth, and it is where the child first learns set patterns of behavior. Each child learns to respond to discipline and authority as he/she reacts to the controls or guidelines of the mother and father. There the child also learns how to respond to other individuals, either by playing with the other children in the family, or those who live nearby. So it is in the home where the child learns a value system of right and wrong. When a child is taught proper discipline and respect in the early years at home, he/she is then ready to be educated and to develop the skills necessary to face life successfully....
