School Notes Overview:
Bannockburn Baptist School curriculum builds on basic skills in language arts, mathematics, social studies and science and is designed to thoroughly prepare students for college. The professional faculty reevaluates each subject area as a part of our ongoing school improvement process. Additionally, kindergarten through twelfth grade Vertical Teams meet each summer to share ideas about curriculum revisions. Curriculum Maps for K-12 have been developed for the core subject areas of English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. This process assures that there are no gaps or overlaps in the K-12 curriculum. The curriculum places strong emphasis on academic skills at all levels. The ongoing curriculum development includes the TEKS as well as Hyde Park enrichment objectives. Bannockburn Baptist School has rigorous and well-developed academic programs for Bridging-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Because of its accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which is recognized by the Texas Education Agency, Hyde Park Baptist School System's curriculum goes well above the state and national standards for high achieving exemplary schools. Bannockburn Baptist School is pioneering a new program, the Austin Christian Leadership Academy! This exciting new endeavor will be an important component of developing Christian leaders for the next generation!
