School Notes

  • School at The Fold is an integral part of our overall ministry. Many of our young people, in the midst of other struggles, have found school to be a place of difficulty, stress and failure. In response, we have specifically designed our school to meet the educational needs of our teens on an individual basis, with a self-paced curriculum and a high teacher to student ratio. This allows us to assist each teen in setting manageable goals that they can achieve, and provide a new foundation of success that will give them a renewed sense of opportunity as they transition into school back home. Our teaching team works closely with the staff in the homes and our counselors to support the discipleship and therapeutic elements. In addition to meeting the teen's educational needs, teachers provide consistent encouragement, accountability, and spiritual guidance. The school curriculum is approved by the Vermont State Department of Education. Grade levels taught include both junior high and senior high school. Twelfth grade students may earn a high school diploma and receive preparation for college. The school is part of our main campus on Vail Hill in Lyndonville, along with The Fold's offices and Retreat Center. This main campus is located several miles between the two resident homes.
