With our experienced and knowledgeable teachers by their sides, our students learn to turn their differences into opportunities and embrace their individual learning styles. CBA students are empowered with the knowledge to become their own best advocates, in the classroom and beyond.
Over the past 10 years, 85% of CBA graduates have gone on to pursue higher education at two-and four-year colleges and universities, locally and across the country. The remaining 15% of alumni have chosen careers in both the civilian and military workforces, many through CBA?'s School-to-Work program. Graduates receive a standard private school diploma and leave ready for success, academically
The Art Program encourages our students to imagine, create and explore. The program allows students to indulge and experiment across a variety of media and promotes creativity through the expression of a student?'s unique vision. Our art teachers approach the learning experience with the same passion and commitment found throughout our school.
Music is introduced through general music classes to students in Kindergarten and continues through Grade 9. Music history and theory are supplemented by work with small instruments and vocal training. By Grade 7 students have the opportunity to take part in our band program, offering students the opportunity to participate in woodwind, brass or percussion lessons.
Team sports are an essential part of a well-rounded educational program. Participation in athletics nurtures confidence and develops collaborative skills that are important to a child?'s future. At CBA we encourage all of our students to participate in athletics, no matter the student?'s skill level.
Our commitment to offering a well-rounded education includes the body as well as the mind. At Chesapeake Bay Academy we also understand that sports help nurture a student?'s sense of self-esteem and develop collaborative skills.
The mission of Chesapeake Bay Academy is to educate students with an academic program individualized to address their learning differences, and to empower our students with the skills and confidence forsuccess in higher education, careers and life.

Bright Kids. Better Fit.
At Chesapeake Bay Academy, we understand that our students are bright kids who need a better academic fit. Traditional teaching methods and classroom environments are unable to provide the level of support that allows these bright kids to reach their academic potential.  For 25 years, Chesapeake Bay Academy has been transforming the lives of children and their families.  As the only K-12 independent school in Southeastern Virginia dedicated to educating bright students who have difficulty learning and achieving in traditional lecture-style educational environments, we specialize in educating children with ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and other learning differences.
