Saint Joseph School was founded in 1876 by the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent DePaul. It was the first Catholic school to be certified by the Virginia Board of Education and maintains certification today through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Saint Joseph School offers a flexible and well-rounded curriculum. Incorporated into this curriculum are opportunities for developing physical well being, fostering creativity, instilling social awareness, and engendering an appreciation for the fine arts. In an effort to respect each student as an individual, Saint Joseph School strives to provide for a happy learning atmosphere. Saint Joseph School offers education opportunities for grades PK-3 through 8th grade. In addition, the students receive instruction in Computer Technology, Art, Music, Library Science, and Physical Education. Through its graduates, Saint Joseph School has made valuable contributions to the business, professional, political, and economic well being of not only the Tri-Cities area, but throughout the world.
