Mekhitarist Fathers School

6470 Foothill Blvd, Tujunga, CA, 91042-0910
On September 6, 2007 Mekhitarist Fathers’ Armenian School opened its doors again to another successful year. Excitement filled the atmosphere as students saw their teachers and ran towards them with smiles on their faces. The parents and students were anxiously waiting to greet the teachers with great anticipation. When the bell rang, the students lined up alongside their teachers, while the parents proudly watched from behind as their children embarked on yet another academic school year. Father Augustine started with an opening prayer that was immediately followed by his fatherly blessing and renewed faith towards the upcoming years. The event was followed by our traditional balloon releasing ceremony. On the count of three the younger students released red, blue, and orange balloons into the sky. This symbolic ceremony represents the soaring of the Armenian spirit to reach its pinnacle in excellence, education, and faith. This event was sealed by our students’ eternal promise to always and forever speak Hayeren.
