School Notes:

  • Mesivta of Greater Los Angeles is a Jewish Orthodox high school that affirms the Torah as eternal and completely relevant to our present-day lives. The primary purpose of Mesivta of Greater Los Angeles is to provide young Jewish men with the educational background at the secondary level necessary to qualify them for positions of leadership in the spiritual and cultural life of American Jewry, as rabbis or educators, in the professions, or in commerce. Greater Los Angeles was founded in September of 1997 as the first boarding high school in a non-urban setting serving the Jewish Orthodox communities west of the Rocky Mountains. Until the founding of our educational institution, parents looking for a Jewish Orthodox boarding school were forced to send their sons across the country. Filling this void, Rabbi Shlomo Gottesman, with the encouragement of a vast array of community leaders, opened Mesivta. Our Judaic Studies Department, led by Harav Shlomo Gottesman שליט״א, is staffed by four renowned master Rebbeim hailing from the world-famous Yeshivas of Lakewood, Brisk, and South Fallsburg: Rabbi Yaakov Gruen (12) Rabbi Chaim Lopian (11) Rabbi Moshe Fisher (10) Rabbi Shmuel Bernstein (9) Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Mesivta's General Studies Department, led by Rabbi Alter Shapiro שליט״א, is one of the most dynamic, challenging and successful programs in the Yeshiva world.

Make Summer a Special Time! Make Summer a Special Time!
If you have children in private school, then you are most likely looking at three months, perhaps even longer, which you must fill with activities of one kind or another during the long summer break.
