St. Matthew School is a Kindergarten - 8th grade school in the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle. We are part of St. Matthew Parish in North Seattle. St. Matthew School welcomes students from all the diverse communities of our city. In partnership with the home and parish, we are here to promote Christian Catholic faith and academic excellence in an environment of opportunity, love, service, forgiveness and cultural diversity. We believe that a partnership of family, school, parish and community helps develop spiritual, academic, personal/physical and service potential. In a learning environment we build a foundation of academic basics and provide opportunities for children to experience and explore subjects that will enrich their lives. We believe that as a multicultural community working together, in a spirit of faith, hope and love, we develop young people who will make worthwhile contributions to the world as responsible, moral, ethical, caring Christians.

School Reviews:

  • Recommended May 01,2012 - I knew once I atteneded an open house that this was the school for my children. Not only does it support and continue the Christian-Catholic Faith and strives for academic excellence, but it also offers a diverse community of cultures. Growing up a minority, this was especially important for our children. Our daughter is thriving and loves school; this here confirms that we made the right choice in schools, and couldn''t be happier.*-Posted by Parent *

  • Recommended May 01,2012 - St. Matthew''s is a place that when I drop off my children every day, I know they will be safe, they will thrive and they will be treated with kindness and respect. This is a community where everyone looks after each other, parents and teachers support one another and we genuinely want to see each child succeed to their full potential. If you are looking for a place where you and your child will feel like you belong to a loving and accepting community, this is the place! Our school might be humble on the outside but we are rich on the inside! The halls are filled with diversity, teaching the children to see God in everyone. Tour our halls during school hours and you will witness for yourself this wonderful place that has been the best kept secret in Seattle!*-Posted by Parent *
