The school was originally formed in 1962 to offer Christian education to the Tri-City area. It is supported by three local Seventh-day Adventist churches--Pasco Riverview SDA Church, Richland SDA Church, and Kennewick SDA Church. Even though TCJA has been established primarily for Seventh-day Adventist families, enrollment is open to others who support the philosophy and objectives of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education.
