Woodinville Montessori School is approved by the state of Washington through grade 12. Accreditation is a voluntary process that is undertaken by schools that are committed to continuous school improvement and compliance with certain standards. We are proud to be fully accredited through 12th grade by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS), and for students aged 18 months through 17 years by the American Montessori Society (AMS). These agencies establish and oversee standards of excellence for Montessori and independent schools. There are many levels of involvement with AMS and NWAIS, including full, associate, initiate and affiliate. Full accreditation means that the school practices the authentic educational philosophy and practices of Maria Montessori, and that it demonstrates compliance with the rigorous standards established by AMS and NWAIS.Jointly accredited by AMS and NWAIS since spring 2006, WMS is also the only school in the Northwest accredited through 12th grade by both organizations.
