WILLIAMSTOWN - The fifth annual Williamstown Relay for Life raised nearly $72,000 Friday night to benefit the American Cancer Society. Carmen Hathaway, community manager for the Parkersburg Chapter of the American Cancer Society, said the event raised $71,888 toward the goal of $75,000 for this year's relay, with some team money still due to come in. PARKERSBURG - The H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu, may have made its way into the Mid-Ohio Valley, officials said. "We are investigating a probable case of swine flu and are awaiting confirmation from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)," said Martha Lamp, project coordinator for the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department Division of Threat Preparedness. - Wood teen tests positive for swine flu (Parkersburg News and Sentinel)

PARKERSBURG - A Wood County case is among four that tested positive in a state laboratory for the swine flu, health officials said Thursday.
