PORTAGE - David Paul Brockley, 39, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009. He was a very precious gift given by God to Bill and Irma in the early morning hours of Jan. 29, 1970. He was brought to the living water of Holy Baptism on Feb. 15, 1970, and became one of his Heavenly Father's little lambs.

St. John's Lutheran School is hoping its second-annual fundraiser this weekend will update aging social studies books. John Hartwig, school principal, said teachers are supplementing 10- to 15-year-old textbooks with their own material about civics, history and geography.
