The Montessori School of Linda Mar is a private school that offers an exceptional academic preschool and kindergarten program for children. The Montessori methods of teaching encompass other areas of a child's development. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that it is equally important to develop children socially, physically, and emotionally. In this environment children learn to be kind and courteous to others, work independently, become self disciplined and learn to take positive action. The Montessori Classroom is especially designed for the children's comfort and stimulation. The children work together in harmony or independently with manipulative and sensorial materials. When finished, the child is responsible for returning the materials from where they came. The Montessori philosophy is a worldwide recognized method of teaching founded in the early 1900's based upon a lifetime of research by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian Physician. Her philosophy is based on the natural development of children and their normal instinctive desire to explore and discover how to learn from the world around them.
