School Notes:

  • We adhere to the Diocese of Venice curriculum, Common Core, and Florida Catholic Conference Standards. We utilize integrated education modules, which include: reading, mathematics, language arts, science and social studies, art and music. Our class sizes of 12 students or less allow for our ESE-certified teachers to tailor direct instruction to each student based upon their individual needs. All of our classes provide our students with the knowledge and confidence they will need to see them into their future.Students participate in daily PE classes and recess twice every day. In addition to religion, science, social studies, and art, our core academic classes include programs that build a foundation of character and service to the community. Occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and physical therapy is included in the cost of tuition, based on the student's IEP.

    Our core curriculum utilizes:

SPIRE is an acronym for Specialized Program Individualizing Reading Excellence. SPIRE is a phonetic-based direct instruction program for reading. It provides the student with a sound base in which to help the student become a strong reader.

Spelling Connections helps our students retain, internalize, and transfer valuable spelling knowledge for improved results in all areas of literacy, in the classroom and beyond.Daily 5: CAFE Strategies is an acronym for Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanding Vocabulary. The system includes goal-setting with students in individual conferences, posting of goals on a whole-class board, developing small group instruction based on clusters of students with similar goals, and targeting whole-class instruction based on emerging student needs.

Voyages in English: Grammar and Writing provides ample opportunities for practice and review to ensure mastery and improved performance.

enVision MATH Florida is daily problem-based Interactive math learning followed by visual learning strategies to deepen conceptual understanding by making meaningful connections for students and delivering strong, sequential visual-verbal connections. Ongoing diagnosis, intervention and daily data-driven differentiation ensure that enVision MATH gives every student the opportunity to succeed.

All of the teachers at Dreams Are Free are certified through State of Florida. Our teachers also hold Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certification, as well as many other certifications. All of our teachers have their Bachelor's degree, and many have earned Master's degrees from universities across the United States. In addition, our principal is a Florida-certified teacher, as well as having earned her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and her Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
