- CHS academics are founded on the classics – our rigorous curriculum is centered upon a thorough exploration of the classics of English literature. Our students develop their skills the old fashioned way: by reading, thinking and writing about the great themes of the classic authors. Strong math, science, history, Bible and Spanish courses complete the core curriculum. Electives in computers, fine arts and Latin round out the program. Thoughtful, persuasive writing is emphasized throughout the curriculum.
- Student population is 111 in grades 9 through 12 and the average class size is 20 students. Typically, nearly all of our graduates go on to college – approximately 75 percent attend four-year colleges and 25 per cent attend community college.
- Our underclassmen take the Stanford Achievement Test each spring, over the last five years our students have ranked in the top 18 per cent nationally.
Over the last five years, our students have SAT scores which place them as a group in the top 30% of college-bound seniors nationally.
- On average, 40 per cent of our graduating seniors are honored as Washington State Honor Awardees – an award bestowed by the Superintendent of Public Instruction on the top 10 per cent of college-bound seniors in the state.
