- What if your child could study under C.S. Lewis, Benjamin Franklin, Shakespeare, Dante, Homer and Augustine?
A Classical Education at Heritage Christian school can make this possible. Classical Educataion is the most proven form of academic instruction in Western Civilization—many of history's greatest thinkers were educated classically. Now your child can study under the leaders that shaped our past with a curriculum designed to change the future.
- A Classical, Christ-centered Education is the cultivation of wisdom and virtue by nourishing young souls with truth, goodness, and beauty. While most contemporary schools attempt to teach subject matter without first giving students the tools to master the material, a Classical, Christ-centered education follows a different approach.
- We employ a methodology known as the Trivium—a three-stage method patterned after a child’s intellectual development. During the Grammar phase, grades K-5, students gain a solid foundation in the basic rules and facts of each subject. In the Logic phase, grades 6-8, we focus on reasoning skills, challenging students to judge, debate, critique, and organize. In the Rhetoric phase, grades 9-12, students learn how to express themselves clearly and persuasively while defending their thoughts and ideas. We emphasize the benefits of being effective communicators in writing as well as in oral presentation.
- A classical education places an emphasis on cultivating wisdom rather than just teaching facts and skills. Every subject is integrated with Christian theology as it is taught from the perspective of Biblical Truth. The end result? A rigorous curriculm that disciplined students thrive on because of their joy for learning.
- At Heritage, our academic standards teach kids how to enjoy learning. They learn to dig deep—viewing subjects from all angles. Our dedication to goodness, truth and beauty breeds hard-working students who thrive on exploration. Their hunger for learning flows over into extra-curricular activities as well. Heritage students aren't satisfied unless they are challenged—both in work and play.
