This small private school started with homeschoolers who found a wonderful, qualified Waldorf teacher for their one room school house, on a 2 acre farm. Waldorf schools differ significantly from mainstream education. It is a world of myths and legends, music and art, rhythm and rhyme, and class plays, with workbooks written and illustrated by students, without exams, testing, or grades. It comes from a deep understanding of a child's developmental stages and needs. The day has a regular rhythmic balance between quiet concentration and outdoor and indoor movement. This is a system of education that nurtures all dimensions of the human being, and seeks to uncover a child's natural capacaties, rather than fit the child into a mold. We regularly thank God, in rhyme and song and verse.
