Running River School is dedicated to meaningful, intelligent, experiential and contemplative education. We are a small school that is able to balance every aspect of education: an excellent academic program including all subjects as well as an integrated yearly environmental theme; the Arts; contemplative practices; nourishing a foundation for life long health (physical fitness and homemade organic lunches); teaching life skills, spending weekly time in nature, and a strong emphasis on communication and social skills. We build community through parent involvement and education, and school service projects both locally and globally. We seek to transform our present culture through building an alternative model of education based on deeply connecting children and parents to themselves, humanity and the planet.
