SunRise strives to prepare its students for re-entry into the educational mainstream when and where appropriate. Special counseling is provided to help each student in the transition towards his goal. Every effort is made to enable all students with an awareness of how they as individuals learn and to develop the confidence necessary to attempt difficult tasks with the expectation of success. SunRise Academy is dedicated to the education and remediation of students with a wide range of learning and emotional disabilities. We currently serve boys between the ages of 7 and 22, exposing them to a nurturing and culturally enriched curriculum and environment emphasizing the traditional and historical achievements of Africans and African Americans. SunRise recognizes the importance of parental involvement in the development of young people and therefore welcomes parents to participate in their sons' educational and social development. ...
