This is a song that is often confused, in name, with "Lough Erin Shore," as done by the Corrs. This song, "Lough Erne('s) Shore" is purportedly an Ulster Hedge School ballad from the 18th or 19th century. Of the Hedge School ballads, it is especially reminiscent of (and influenced by) medieval French reverdies, mostly in lyrical content. The Corrs' "Lough Erin Shore" is an instrumental version of "Gleanntain Ghlas Ghaoth Dobhair," written by Francie Mooney in the 20th century. It can be found in English, usually under the title of "Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore." Links as follows.
