Oralingua School

7056 Washington Avenue, Whittier, CA, 90602-0906
Oralingua School for the Hearing Impaired offers an auditory-oral option for children affected by hearing loss.  An auditory-oral approach is just one option in a host of choices for communication and education of the deaf.  Our students gain access to sound through high-powered hearing aids and cochlear implants and learn how to develop good listening skills and spoken language.    Oralingua's mission is to immerse children who are deaf or hard of hearing in a language-enriched environment that promotes listening, spoken language, speech, cognition and social interaction.  Focusing on our mission allows us to reach our goal of transitioning students by early elementary into traditional classrooms with the ability to function near grade level of their hearing peers in listening, spoken language and academics.

School Reviews:

  • Recommended May 21,2012 - This program is amazing! You should come and "hear" these kids who are profoundly deaf. Imagine what you''d hear if you had a profound hearing loss...Not much. You''d probably feel the vibration from a jet engine before you''d hear the sound! With the advances in hearing aids and cochlear implants, a truely exceptional instructional staff and the most precious students in the world, make Oralingua my pick for teaching deaf children how to listen and talk. It''s really true...At Oralingua, "Their work speaks for itself!"*-Posted by Parent *

Make Summer a Special Time! Make Summer a Special Time!
If you have children in private school, then you are most likely looking at three months, perhaps even longer, which you must fill with activities of one kind or another during the long summer break.

Are You Liable? Are You Liable?
Is your DEL key about to get gaveled? It doesn't matter whether you teach in a public or private school setting. You expose yourself to legal risks every single day on the job.
