School Notes:
- Children who are immersed in a positive, reading-rich environment learn to read at an early age. Our assessments have revealed young preschool children have aptitudes for beginning reading development. Because of these facts, our preschool is organized as an alternative to daycare. We operate twelve hours per day, five days per week, and we are open year-round.
- Our Primary Class is aimed at children five to seven years old. We use a multi-level combined curriculum in this program to promote reading development, numbers and math skills, as well as a general knowledge of the world around us. Our reading program incorporates classroom, small group, and computer instruction so that every student is challenged according to his or her ability. Students read both orally and silently every day. There is plenty of fun, too! Physical fitness, organized games, and music classes add to the students' cognitive skill development.
- Our Intermediate Class is geared for students 8-12 years of age. A series of diagnostic tests help place each student in our self-paced curriculum according to his or her ability and achievement level. Students progress at their own pace, learning and applying academics and Scripture knowledge, free from the encumbrance of a conventional, grade-segregated elementary school setting. Learning is accelerated for gifted and at-risk students even though they share the same classroom. Group activities, Bible devotions and projects tying academics to real-world applications make each day new and exciting.
- Covenant Christian Academy is an institution dedicated to working with parents who are successful in fulfilling their roles at home. Students are enrolled who have a Christian testimony to share. Students begin high school credit coursework whenever they have completed the eighth-level coursework. Students thirteen and older participate in Accelerated Christian Education's Student Conventions. Students work both individually and in groups for academics, projects, performance events, and athletics. Over 140 extra-curricular events help the students to determine their God-given talents and their identity in Christ.
