A rigorous academic program challenges students to stretch their minds and apply concepts learned in a variety of ways. Hands-on approaches to science and math provide the means for deepening student understanding of concepts taught and promote higher level thinking skills. K-8 classroom technology allows for instruction to be enriched with internet access and interactive lessons. A well-equipped computer lab and computers in the library provide research access and increasing development of computer skill application. Dedicated teachers in the areas of music (classroom, choral, and instrumental), computer, art, and Spanish provide the most effective levels of enrichment instruction.
Among the extended field trips for students at PCS are: 4th Graders visiting Sacramento & Coloma, 5th Graders sailing on a Tall Ship out of Dana Harbor and participating in a re-enactment of the Revolutionary War in Oak Glen, 6th Graders spending a week at Outdoor Science Camp, 7th Graders taking a 3-day math/science trip to Monterey, and 8th Graders spending 10 days on the East Coast seeing first-hand many of the historical sights of our nation.
1st-3rd grade students prepare for and present a Poem Party to family and friends. Each student memorizes a piece of poetry or prose for the event. Singing and special instrumental performance are included. Selected 1st through 6th graders participate in the Association of Christian Schools International Annual Speech Meet. Other ACSI student events include Math Olympics, Spelling Bee, and Art Festival.
Competitive sports provides Junior High students with the opportunity to play football, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball in a competitive school league. They can also participate in track and field events, cross country and cheer.
Each year Choral Workshop (5th & 6th grades) presents the Spring Musical. The Joyful Sounds (3rd & 4th grades) choir provides musical support for them. This past year students presented
Grandparents are very special people in the lives of their grandchildren. PCS sets aside one day a year for them to come to campus, be entertained by a variety of groups and spend time visiting with their grandchildren in the classrooms.
The annual Jogothan is a healthy way for students and families to support PCS. Finding sponsors and participating in an hour on walking, jogging or running is a healthy and fun way to socialize. The other events that provide a fundraising opportunity as well as a time of socializing as a school family are the annual: Magazine Drive, Grandparents' Day, and Golf Tournament events. Participation in any of the events is voluntary.
Throughout the year students participate in a variety of special events and/or celebrations. Among those are Crazy Hat Day, In 'N Out Lunch Day, Veterans' Day Ceremony, Pajama Day, Spirit Week and other themed days. Chapel is a weekly event at three levels: K-3, 4-6, & 7-8. Chapels include student-lead programs, special guest speakers, and theme-focused chapels presented by administration.
Each fall the Parent Teacher Fellowship plans a themed event for PCS families. There are game booths, cake decorating contest, lots of food, and many other fun attractions.
The primary mission of Pasadena Christian School is to provide its students with the academic training and spiritual nurture needed to become men and women who are worthy representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Working together with the family and the local church, we seek to provide our students with the foundation necessary to become people whose lives reflect an uncompromising commitment to Christ, who are people of unquestioned integrity, and who pursue excellence in whatever they do.
Working in cooperation with parents, the goal of Pasadena Christian School is to provide a high quality, Christian education based on biblical values and principles.
The school will ensure that the salvation message is presented to and understood by each child.
This education will provide the foundation upon which future Christian service and ministry is built.

School Reviews

As parents of children with different talents, our family searched for a school that not only reinforced the Christian morals and values that we instilled but offered a challenging and differentiated academic environment. After educating our family at Pasadena Christian School for more than twelve years, we discovered that our expectations were not only met but exceeded! Pasadena Christian School offers a reasonable priced Christ-centered program with high academic standards that encouraged our children to excel in music, art, public speaking, athletics, technology and foreign language. Following our children's middle school graduations, they were equipped to attend the best college preparatory high schools in our area.
