School Notes Overview:

Curé of Ars School opened in September, 1961 with eight grades. By the fall of 1962, the enrollment was up to 600 students, and at the end of the second year, the first grade was discontinued. A second wing was added to the school in 1968 and at that time the first grade was reinstated and a kindergarten was added. A preschool became part of the educational program beginning with the 1978-79 school year. A new church was dedicated in March, 1979. The original church became the Father Kelly Center, adding a sports and activity facility to the school and parish. Curé of Ars Parish and School received its name from Archbishop Hunkeler. Curé is a French name meaning priest or pastor, and Ars is the name of a small village in France. The Curé of Ars was a young priest by the name of John Vianney.
