New Covenant Christian School

Founded in 1974, Second Start began offering a tutorial and diagnostic clinic to children with severe disabilities. In 1976, Pine Hill School was added to provide a multi-disciplinary, academic and therapeutic program to learning disabled and emotionally troubled children in grades 1-12. Pine Hill is the only nonpublic school in the Silicon Valley/San Jose area that can offer services through Second Start. We are the only organization of our kind which has worked closely with the City of San Jose. Pine Hill School provides an environment that meets the needs of the whole child. We strive to implement a quality education with an individualized component for students who have been unable to have their needs met in other educational settings. Enhancement of self-esteem is an important part of the Pine Hill program. The Pine Hill teaching staff works in conjunction with counselors, administration, and parents to establish a comprehensive educational plan for each student.
