Pinecrest is a private independent school, home to approximately 285 children 18 months through Eighth Grade. The fundamental purpose of Pinecrest Schools is to provide quality instruction - based on the highest academic standards - to preschool, primary and middle school students. Our learning environment is organized along traditional principles of education, although we do take full advantage of up-to-date technology and proven methods of instruction. Along with academic achievement, we stress the development of creativity, character and citizenship. These traits, important enough in their own right, are also mutually supportive. Strength in creative thinking combine with strength in academics to develop character, the foundation of good citizenship. At Pinecrest, we believe every new experience is a crisis in self-esteem - and we keep this in mind as we challenge the skills of the student. We want every child to become aware of his or her individual self-worth and to know that he or she is a very special person. This, then, is the Pinecrest ideal: the intellectual, moral and physical development of each student - achieved through a program of studies, student activities and athletics designed to stimulate interest and creativity.
