Crossway Community Montessori School is an independent coeducational school for children from ages three months to six+ years. The CCMS infant Montessori program is one of the first in Montgomery County, MD and offers educational continuity unmatched in the Washington metropolitan area. The mission of CCMS is to educate children according to the Montessori philosophy and encourage the full development of each child’s unique potential. CCMS promotes the development of independence in each child within the context of a mixed-age community. Recognized by Washington Parent magazine as one of the Washington region’s most “outstanding” Montessori schools, CCMS boasts a multicultural student body and faculty. Our programs promote learning, creativity and community for each child in the context of his or her family – his first community. Parents are integrated into their child’s development in the school. Staff use individual observation to create a learning plan for each child and communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress.
