For example, in Early Childhood at Water’s Edge, children experience a warm, homelike environment with ample opportunity to develop strong pre-academic skills through creative play, music, art, storytelling, sewing, baking and outdoor activities. The wonder of childhood is protected so that the child’s natural curiosity and joy in the learning process will carry them through grade school and beyond. In grade school and middle school, all subjects are integrated with artistic and practical work that includes singing, instrumental music, painting, sculpture, woodworking, drama, house-building, gardening and more, making this education effective and stimulating for children with all learning styles. Children who receive a Waldorf education are authentic, curious, balanced, self-confident, and successful. They have learned to examine problems from many angles and think about solutions creatively. 91% of Waldorf graduates consider themselves “lifelong learners,” a quality essential to success in our rapidly changing world. Water’s Edge offers Parent Child classes for children 12 months to 3 years, Preschool/Kindergarten for children 3 to 6, and Grades 1 through 8.
