Gann gets $12 million donation (The Jewish Advocate)

Gann Academy in Waltham received a $12.25 million donation this week from two anonymous families, the largest gift in the school's 13-year history. "The gift was given specifically to clear debt away so that the school can focus on more important issues," said Robin Jones, spokesperson for Gann.

Newton South's Celia Kaufer's goal from Martha Schnee gave the Lions a 1-0 lead early, but Newton North rallied for three unanswered goals in a non-league season finale for both teams.

The Trinity Catholic boys soccer team moved one step closer toward qualifying for the state tournament with a 3-0 victory over Maimonides yesterday. The Falcons improved to 7-8 overall and can clinch a tourney berth with a victory over Matignon on Monday. Trinity has already beaten Matignon once this season.

Senior Olivia Creonte had a goal and two assists as the Waltham High girls soccer team won for the second time this season yesterday at Leary Field. Senior Alina Bahlavouni and junior Arianna DeJulio accounted for the other goals in the 3-0 Dual County League victory over Boston Latin.
