The Covenant Foundation is now accepting nominees for its 2010 awards for innovative Jewish educators. Awardees receive $36,000 each, as well as $5,000 for their institutions or organizations.

NEW YORK (JTA) -- The Covenant Foundation announced the winners of its annual awards for excellence in Jewish education. The awardees, who were picked for their innovative Jewish educational programs, each will receive $36,000, as well as $5,000 apiece for their institutions.

Fort Garrison’s outgoing principal will open a new elementary school. When Susan C. Hershfeld bids farewell to her students June 12, it will be a bittersweet moment. After seven years as principal of Fort Garrison Elementary School, Ms. Hershfeld will be moving on.
