Virginia Episcopal School is an engaging community which guides students to strive Toward Full Stature in their academic, ethical, spiritual, and personal growth.  By design, VES is a small, intimate academic community of students and residential faculty.
Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, our 160-acre campus is nestled near the James River along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Virginia Episcopal School is committed to rigorous academic training and vigorous individual attention in a spiritual and ethical environment.
VES enrolls a well-qualified, diverse group of students in grades 9, 10, 11, and, in some cases, grade 12.
The application process is designed to present an overview of the whole student.
While past academic and extracurricular achievement is important, the school also measures a student's willingness to participate fully in its programs.
At VES, we expect all of our students will attend college.
So we design our curriculum to make our students as competitive for college as possible.
We know that in order to inspire students to work hard, they must have curriculum choices that intrigue them.
Here, students have a superb number of course options.
Our curriculum provides more than 65 courses, including honors tracks and 17 advanced placement courses.
