A Catholic independent school founded on Summit’s Larned estate in 1924, Oak Knoll is dedicated to the education of the whole child. The atmosphere is known for a spirit of joy, mutual respect and trust. The school welcomes religious, racial and ethnic diversity. A Lower School is offered for boys and girls from kindergarten through sixth grade and an Upper School is offered for young women in grades 7-12. Lower School boys attend the area’s finest independent and Catholic schools; alumnae of the Upper School enroll at the most selective colleges and universities. Oak Knoll’s courses and activities stress academic, athletic, social, creative and moral development. The rigorous Upper School curriculum includes 14 advanced placement and honors classes; courses range from Italian to “The Infinity Project,” a national award-winning pre-engineering initiative.
