School Notes Overview:
The purpose of Nuweetooun School is to educate all students in a respectful, stimulating, and engaging environment. Our program integrates core educational curriculum standards in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Health with a concentration on Environmental Education and Native Culture and History. We are committed to creating an experiential, integrated, and collaborative learning environment in which to develop well-rounded, enthusiastic, and self-motivated learners. Our students experience education that embraces their learning styles, honors their multiple intelligences, and enriches their educational, social, spiritual, and cultural development in order to develop the whole person. Our mission at Nuweetooun School is to teach the whole child, mind, body, and spirit in a way that fires ones imagination for life-long learning....

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Supreme Court today ruled against the Narragansett Indian Tribe of Rhode Island in its sovereignty dispute with the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, reversing an earlier decision by the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston.
