Faith Christian School is an independent, non-denominational Christian school. Teachers and board members embrace the historic tenets of biblical Christianity as presented in our Statement of Faith. Beyond these doctrines, we respect and acknowledge the primacy of the family and local church and refer any demonstrated specific doctrinal questions to parents and local churches for clarification. Faith Christian School provides a Christian and Classical education as a service to the Christian community of the Roanoke Valley. As a Christian school, we are dedicated to teaching every discipline from a Christian worldview. Faith Christian School's classical emphasis defines one of the aims of our mission. The goal of a well-trained mind is best served by the liberal arts curriculum rather than in a technical or vocational scheme. As a result, because of this classical emphasis, we welcome those students capable of intensive study. The mission of Faith Christian School is to provide a Christ-centered classical education of academic excellence, spiritual depth, and moral integrity which will prepare students for godly participation in their society and promote loyalty to God and country....

Enrollment has dipped in some schools in the Roanoke and New River valleys. Sam Cox, head of Faith Christian School, cannot deny the economic recession's effect on some of the school's families. "We have had more than one small-business owner go bankrupt," Cox said. "We have sales reps that aren't selling and builders that aren't building."

In the first match of the year on Aug. 25, Faith Christian School of Roanoke defeated the local squad 5-1. In a closer game two days later, Faith Christian Academy of Hurt blanked the Crusaders, 3-0.
