School Reviews

My young daughter attends this fine establishment, and loves it. There is so much cultural diversity and opportunities to expand her worldview. They do i great job of helping her succeed in her struggling areas. They have a test minimum that gives her a set goal and i feeling of accomplishment when completed. The price for the school is reasonable for the excellent services provided. The courses are designed to be individualized for each student. The day is broken up into three parts to achieve maximum success. The short day is in my opinion better than i full day. No time is wasted at this school. I would highly recommend it for anyone. :)

I have taught at Willow Bend Academy for 10 years. Over those years, I have seen the program develop into an educational system that can benefit students of all ability levels. The system is uniquely designed for students with educational needs that are not being met in their current situation. At Willow Bend Academy we recognize that the needs of each student are unique. With a small student to teacher ratio (8:1), students spend a good amount of time interacting with their teacher and the teacher works hard to meet each student?''s specific needs. This school is not a diploma mill. It takes hard work and time on the part of the student. Ensuring that a student is prepared for the next step after high school is one of our primary concerns. If that means working through concepts in a math book slowly and deliberately with a student, that will happen. Since we are mastery based, students are expected to know and understand the concepts being taught before moving forward. This has proven to be frustrating to some students, some of whom have written reviews. In many cases, the students that have marched out the door in anger, return after a few years to thank us for challenging them to be the best person they can in terms of academics, social interaction and emotional health. The faculty and staff at Willow Bend Academy truly care for each student that walks in the door. We strive to provide a caring and accepting environment for students to grow academically and socially.

I think the greatest gift we give our students at Willow Bend Academy is to empower and expect them to take responsibility for their own education. Our school motto "Master Learning, Master Life" is truly ingrained as students set and achieve daily goals and thereby learn time management and life skills that transfer to facilitate success in other areas as well. Our low student / teacher ratio affords us the luxury of addressing the individual academic and scheduling needs of each of our students. Our individually paced program and customized approach to education makes this a very effective and efficient educational model - for athletes, actors, musicians, international, or intellectually gifted and challenged students alike. Come and see for yourself the positive difference WBA can make in the life of your child.
