School Notes:

    Emphasis is placed on preparing students for the comprehensive curriculum of the high school by developing good study skill and discipline for more advanced academic work. Honors classes are offered in English, Math and Science.Core classes include Bible, English, Math, Physical Education, Science and History. Elective course offerings at the Junior High School are outstanding and a partial list includes instrumental and vocal music classes, art, computer animation, DVD yearbook, yearbook, Spanish, Latin, computer keyboarding and journalism. By the time students reach the high school, they have honed their critical and analytical skills and are ready to meet the demands of a challenging curriculum.  Valley Christian Schools is known by many for its high quality programs and one-of-akind opportunities. In addition, we place an extremely high value on introducing and fostering personal relationships with Jesus Christ. We recognize that this relationship is one that not only transforms our world but also makes a difference for eternity. Spiritual Life at VCS is fostered through many different avenues:
    • prioritizing the spiritual health of the entire faculty so that students are surrounded by positive, Christian role models
    • daily prayer for every student by name
    • cross-curricular biblical integration

    • required Bible course units and community service hours for high school graduation
    • weekly chapels at all campuses and biannual spiritual emphasis weeks at the junior high and high school

    • student-led initiatives involving worship, prayer, and service on the campus
    • Bible verses inscribed on school facilities to invite guests to seriously consider the gospel message of Jesus Christ
    • Grade-level and honors-level classes are available in English, math, and science (including Geometry, Algebra II, and high school-level Biology).  Students identified as needing academic accommodations to achieve their true potential receive help and encouragement through the Student Support Services program. The Applied Math, Science, and Engineering (AMSE) Institute elective courses offer students opportunities such as Project Lead the Way, VCJH Space Program, Investigative Science - the Truth is Out There, and Logic and ReasoningVCJH offers a fully developed, competitive robotics program – the WarriorBots, award-winning Math and Science clubs, and the annual all-school Rube Goldberg Contest. AMSE seeks to develop Christian scientists, mathematicians, and engineers who are equipped to become global leaders in the most advanced fields. The unique Junior Conservatory provides extensive offerings in music, theatre, dance, and the visual arts, with participation in a variety of performances, festivals, competitions, and recitals. Extensive electives excite students and progress naturally into the elite VC high school programs. These electives include state-of-the-art Video Editing, TV Broadcasting, 3D Animation and Game Design, Hands-On Science, and Foreign Language. Twenty-two sports teams, over five different seasons, benefit from state-of-the-art athletic facilities.  Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, teamwork, and community service.
