School Reviews

Ascension puts academics first. There are sports and student organizations, but they do not overshadow academics. Students are held to a high but reasonable standard of academic performance and discipline. Students are polite and respectful. Creativity is valued. It''s a small, close-knit school community. Teachers know who all the students are, even students who are not in their classes. Parent involvement is encouraged, but volunteer hours are not required (nor is donation in lieu of volunteering). I am a parent volunteer, helping weekly at the lunchtime snack bar, interacting with students and seeing their good behavior firsthand. All races, religions, and income levels are welcome (there is financial aid for low-income students).
