Tara Hill Montessori School was based on Montessori education program which had created by Maria Montessori. Maria Montessori was the first woman physician in Italy in 1896. She had a background in mathematics, engineering and biology prior to her study of medicine. After her study of philosophy, psychology and working with several groups of children, she designed special materials in a scientifically prepared environment that would stimulate the growth and development of the brain. She tried this method and found it to be very effective in improving the standards of education.
