School Notes

  • Our VisionTo embrace and use an Orton-Gillingham approach as we graduate students who define themselves by their strengths, who self-advocate, and fulfill the God-given talents they possess in and out of the classroom to fully understand the love God has for them. Our classroom teachers are trained in Orton-Gillingham and apply its tenets in every facet of their teaching. The teachers, with an enormous fund of knowledge and experience, know best how to approach the instruction of each child in the school community. We recognize that our students are individuals with personalities, backgrounds, and learning styles unique unto them.

Sage School is an outstanding school with a very specialized mission, serving students with dyslexia. The teachers are extremely knowledgable, loving, and caring, and the student experience offers individualized attention and growth academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. In addition to reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, students have STEAM and Drama classes and lots of time to be a kid, playing at recess with friends. The Gwinnett County community is blessed to have such an extraordinary school available for dyslexic learners right in its backyard.

This school changed my daughters life. She had been failed by the public schools by not only being a non-reader at 7 years old, but also by denying her services that work for dyslexic thinkers. Within weeks she loved school and started gaining confidence. After 3 years she was above grade level and even won a writing award in 5th grade when she reentered her local school. We highly recommend Sage for their knowledge, teachers, staff and results.

This school is life changing. I have dyslexia and so far 2 of our children do too. I remember the struggle and being convinced I was dumb because I just could not pick things up like my peers. My memories is what lead us to find a school that is created for dyslexics. It was also important to me that the school be a remediation program because I know first hand that given the tools a dyslexic child can do amazing in life and even school. Our oldest is now transitioning out. He did testing at our top choice school and he tested 3 grade levels ahead on reading comprehension and 4 grades ahead on math. Sage gave him the tools and then individualized his learning which is why he was able to progress so much. I have always said the trick with dyslexics is to get them through school without losing all their confidence- I was wrong. Dyslexics can excel in school if they are taught to learn for their brain. We will forever be thankful for Sage School.

This is an amazing school with very individualized instruction for students with dyslexia and other language based learning disabilities. Their goal is to prepare your child with tools to take back to their mainstream school in 2-4 years. This school has been excellent at identifying my child's needs and figuring out how she best learns.Highly recommend!
